Sacred Stone Massage-An Ancient Healing Technique

A hot stone massage is a one-of-a-kind experience that is extremely effective in relieving muscular
tension and allowing deep relaxation to occur within a being. It involves placing smooth Basalt stones along different parts of the body to allow heat to penetrate deep into the body, along with massaging with the stones.
Using warmed-up stones to achieve these benefits is nothing new, however. For thousands of years, hot stone massage has been used in cultures all over the world to aid healing .Evidence shows that as early as 2600 BC, river stones were used in India and China, warmed in the sun and applied to the body along specific lines to balance energy flow with positive effects.
Native Americans have for centuries used stones in their sweat lodges during sacred
ceremonies, heating them over the fire and passing them around to rub on areas of the body that need extra attention or focus.
.This is how I truly began to understand hot stone massage, through respect for the Grandfather rocks--ancient beings, so much older than us, but still deserving of respect and honor. On this mother earth there are so many beings here to help us and through using hot stones we
can allow ourselves to be healed with help from ancient voices, stones that have been here for
hundreds of thousands of years.

I now offer Sacred Stone Massage in my practice. It is easy to upgrade to a hot stone massage, but I do need advance notice in order for the stones to be warm for your appointment. I can also combine aromatherapy with the Hot Stone Massage to provide a truly unique healing experience.
